New Vision Counseling Center is a non-profit organization offering low-cost counseling and psychological services for the community. Rhombus is a for-profit agency aimed at increasing quality education, training, and counseling services. Rhombus is providing administrative support and office locations for New Vision Counseling Center in exchange for New Vision Counseling Center offering a low-cost option for therapy to those who are unable to afford traditional costs of therapy. New Vision Counseling Center uses practicum students to provide quality therapy for the underserved populations in San Diego and Rhombus supports the training and increased options for experience to these practicum students.

Thank you for your interest in New Vision Counseling. We offer practicum internship opportunities for trainees and interns pursuing their master’s degree in the clinical field.

We are currently accepting applications and scheduling interviews for placements. Our placements typically begin in August. We require a minimum 9 to 12 month commitment for all clinical trainee and intern placements.

Clinical trainees and interns will complete a two-day Orientation in August and a 40-hour Domestic Violence training in Sept. or Oct. to prepare to provide excellent care to the clients we serve. We provide a well-rounded internship that allows students to experience individual & group counseling, domestic violence groups, assessments, client advocacy, professional development, content development, trainings, and supervision. We also offer ongoing training opportunities and value mentorship relationships.
